Privacy Policy

CalmStat is a system monitoring application for macOS designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect or upload your system metrics. This policy explains what stays local and which features require network access.

CalmStat does not include app telemetry, tracking pixels, fingerprinting, or usage analytics. This website does not load analytics scripts. Direct download purchases and license delivery are handled by Creem. Mac App Store purchases, trials, and restore purchases are handled by Apple StoreKit.

All system metrics (CPU, memory, storage, battery, network, temperature) are collected and stored exclusively on your Mac using Core Data. This data never leaves your device. You can delete all stored data at any time by removing the application.

CalmStat makes network requests only when you explicitly trigger them:

IP Address Lookup — When you use the network information feature, a request is sent to ipify.org to retrieve your public IP address. This only happens when you actively request it.

Speed Test — When you run a speed test, CalmStat connects to speed.cloudflare.com to measure your connection speed. This only happens when you press the speed test button.

Auto-Update Check — The direct download version uses Sparkle 2 to check for new versions via our appcast.xml feed hosted at calmstat.com. No personal data is sent during this check.

License Activation and Validation — The direct download version contacts Creem's licensing service when you activate or validate a license. The Mac App Store version uses Apple StoreKit for purchase, trial, and restore. System metrics are never included.

CalmStat only writes to your clipboard when you explicitly copy a value (such as your IP address). It never reads from or monitors your clipboard.

If enabled, CalmStat sends local notifications for system alerts (high CPU, low memory, etc.). These notifications are processed entirely on your device and are never sent to external servers.

The direct download version uses Creem's online licensing service. The Mac App Store version uses Apple StoreKit. CalmStat sends only the purchase or license information required to verify entitlement, never CPU, memory, storage, battery, network, temperature, or other system metrics.

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update this page and the date at the top. Since CalmStat collects no data, meaningful changes to this policy are unlikely.
